At Aarth Universal School, we celebrated Teacher’s Day with immense joy and gratitude for the dedication and hard work of our incredible teachers. The day began with heartwarming celebrations in the classrooms, where students and teachers came together to enjoy the occasion.

Our PY- MY students took the lead by organising a grand celebration, welcoming teachers with the beats of dhol and nagada. The excitement grew as they presented a fun-filled treasure hunt challenge for the teachers, sparking joy and laughter all around!

Later, the leadership team took over with a series of engaging activities. Teachers were divided into 6 teams to compete in thrilling challenges, including threading needles, building the tallest wooden block tower, and a hilarious skit titled “A Day in the Life of a Teacher,” which had everyone in stitches! We wrapped up the day by creating fun dance reels to upbeat music, capturing the festive spirit.

The celebrations ended with a special surprise gift from the management – a personalized token of appreciation for each teacher. 🎁
It was truly a day filled with excitement, joy, and unforgettable memories! ✨

Meanwhile, our talented Primary Years and Middle Years students wowed us in a thrilling poetry recitation competition! 🎤🌈 Their powerful words and performances left us all inspired!

And of course, the Book Fair by Sam and Mi Publishers was a book lover’s dream! 📖💫 Students explored endless shelves of exciting reads, sparking imaginations and filling their day with literary adventures. 🎈🎉

We continued with unleashing creativity and exploring new horizons on the third day of our unforgettable Literary Week! 🌟
On Day 3, we organized an online workshop for all parents titled Raise a Reader which was to help parents understand how to promote reading habits in kids. Meanwhile, the little ones of Early Years and 1-2s engaged in a bookmark-making activity, showcasing their creativity and enthusiasm by crafting beautiful and colourful bookmarks.
Additionally, the students of 3-4s visited the Kavi Narmad Library to delve deeper into literature. Our students from Grade 5 to 8 gained valuable insights about surrealism during the surrealist poetry writing session. Overall, the children thoroughly enjoyed the diverse literary activities, which also helped to enhance their literary skills.

While exploring the unit on ‘Visual designs’ our Grade 6-7s and Grade 8 students had an exciting guest speaker session on CAD software with passionate Mr. Prashant Mistry from Solidworks!

The session kicked off with students buzzing with anticipation as they prepared to apply what they've learnt in class to real-world design challenges. Mr. Mistry began by taking them back to the Root of CAD software, guiding them through its origins and fundamentals, before diving into the exciting process of transforming 2D shapes into dynamic 3D models.

As they explored the software, students picked up new technical terms like "extrude," "reference plane," "revolve," and "extrude hollow", adding these powerful tools to their design vocabulary. This hands-on, interactive experience was a highlight for our young designers, who were thrilled to see their visual drawings come to life on screen. The session was not just educational but also a lot of fun, as students connected their sketches with real-life applications, making creativity and technology come together in the most engaging way!

As the celebration in our Early Years began, with sparkling eyes and eager minds, our little ones were captivated by the story of Kavi Narmad, a renowned poet and writer who shaped Gujarati literature. To bring the festivities to life, our talented teachers presented an enchanting drama in Gujarati on Janmashtami, immersing our young scholars in the vibrant world of mythology. The excitement reached its peak as we gathered to break the most yearned-for chocolate handi, a tradition that filled the air with joy and laughter. The day concluded with a delightful Garba performance. As our little ones tapped their feet and swayed to the rhythmic beats, their hearts surely brimmed with happiness!

Aarth, a vibrant canvas of tradition and knowledge, paid homage to our cultural heritage through the joyous celebration of Janmashtami and Gujarati Bhasha Divas.

For our PY-MY students, the day kicked off with a thought-provoking discussion on the profound significance of Gujarati Bhasha Divas. With much reverence, we paid homage to the literary luminary, Kavi Narmad, whose contributions to Gujarati literature are unparalleled.

Following the insightful discussion, the school erupted into a frenzy of excitement as the much-awaited house-wise competition commenced! Students from each house battled it out in a series of challenging hurdles, answering a set of intriguing questions. The quiz centred around the joyous festival of Janmashtami, testing students’ knowledge of the festival's traditions and mythology in the vibrant Gujarati language.

The winning house not only claimed the highest points but also earned the coveted opportunity to break the much-anticipated chocolate handi. It was a delightful culmination of the day's festivities, followed by Garba, the cultural dance of Gujarat.

It was certainly a day rooted in our tradition as well as infused with fun and sweet victory!

Logical representation can create patterns to decode puzzles in the world.

In our Grade 8 class, we utilized a visually engaging approach to capture students' attention and stimulate critical thinking. We started by presenting an logical pattern based image related to our Statement of Inquiry (SOI) along with a word splash. Some interesting words that came up included mathematical operations, space, pattern, puzzle, lines, and honeycomb, which led to insightful discussions and curiosity-driven questions.
- What was the thought behind this?
- Why was only this image chosen?
- What is the purpose of this unit?

This visual aid ignited engaging class discussions, allowing students to articulate and defend their interpretations.

Following this, we organized a gallery walk featuring various patterns and puzzles, which encouraged students to explore and solve mathematical challenges. To reinforce understanding of key mathematical concepts, students brainstormed synonyms and associated them with appropriate photographs, fostering connections between abstract ideas and real-world examples.

After thorough exploration, we concluded that the key concept of 'Form' was most applicable to our unit, prompting further investigations into related concepts. This approach not only cultivated curiosity but also heightened anticipation for future classes, demonstrating the effectiveness of our teaching methods in inspiring a love for mathematics.

In line with our cherished Aarth tradition, we were delighted to celebrate Raksha Bandhan by appreciating and honouring those who protect and support us. This year, we dedicated this celebration to the SMC cleaning workers, who tirelessly safeguard our environment and city with their unwavering efforts. In their honour, our students crafted beautiful rakhis in their classes. Our MYP students visited the SMC office to personally tie rakhis to the cleaning workers, expressing their gratitude and respect. This heartwarming gesture highlighted the spirit of Raksha Bandhan—thanking those who protect us.

Inspired by Tagore's views on Raksha Bandhan and how he used the occasion to unite people, we reflected on the importance of coming together and supporting one another. Join us in celebrating the spirit of protection and gratitude! As we contemplate on our Theme of the Year, Root, we recognised that our strength lies in the bonds we nurture and the roots we cultivate in our community. 💖

Independence Day Celebrations 🇮🇳

Today, our Aarthians began the day with a spirited March Past, followed by the flag hoisting ceremony and the singing of the National Anthem, setting the tone for a memorable Independence Day celebration. We were honoured to host Ms. Archana Dixit, who shared the remarkable story of her father’s three-year service with Mahatma Gandhi’s Vanar Sena. Her narrative highlighted the courage of the younger generation during India’s freedom struggle and underscored the importance of our cultural roots. Her presence enriched the occasion, bridging the past with the present and inspiring reflection on the sacrifices made for our freedom and the significance of heritage.

The celebrations continued with a moving rendition of a patriotic song by our talented Aarthians, filling the atmosphere with pride and patriotism. Following this, Aarthians showcased their creativity and passion in a lively dance competition, where each class group put forth their best performances.

One of the highlights of the day was a powerful skit by students from Grades 5 and Middle School, dedicated to the legendary Shaheed Bhagat Singh and his comrades, who fearlessly took part in the freedom movement, always putting their motherland before their own lives. The Aarthians beautifully depicted his unwavering dedication and relentless struggle for India’s freedom, reminding us of all of the sacrifices made by countless heroes throughout our nation’s history. Bhagat Singh’s courage and determination continue to inspire millions, and it was a privilege to honour his legacy today.

The day concluded with a thrilling house wise dance competition among different class groups, adding a festive touch to the celebrations. Sarojini House emerged as the winner for the 1-2s group, while Laxmibai House claimed victory in the 3-8 group. The programme ended on a high note with everyone singing “Vande Mataram” in unison, filling the air with patriotic fervour and a deep sense of pride in our nation’s heritage.

Celebrating 78th Independence Day with a Powerful Tiranga Yatra!

On the eve of our nation's 78th Independence Day, we proudly participated in the special campaign launched by the government to promote our rich culture, heritage, and the significance of freedom— 'Tiranga Yatra.' This initiative is a call to energize our youth and inspire them to commit to nation-building.

In collaboration with the Gram Panchayat of Malgama village, our Grade 3 to 8 students, accompanied by their teachers, marched together in the Tiranga Yatra. The preparation began the day before, where our students chose pressing societal issues such as pollution, saving trees, poverty, respecting differences, cleanliness, water conservation, and animal protection. They then created powerful posters and slogans, which were proudly displayed during the Yatra.

Starting from the Gram Panchayat, the Yatra wound through the village streets, completing a full round of Malgama. This experience was incredibly valuable for our students. Not only did it deepen their understanding of current societal challenges, but it also empowered them to express their thoughts creatively and develop a stronger sense of responsibility toward their community.

Through this hands-on activity, our students learnt the importance of using their voices to advocate for positive change. This Tiranga Yatra was a beautiful and meaningful way to celebrate the spirit of freedom and unity. ✨
